  • Aim of This Course

The Jazz Tracker course is tailored to prepare students for audition to Newpark Music Centre's Bachelor of Arts in Jazz Performance Programme (BAJP, 4 years) or their Berklee Track Higher Certificate Programme (2 years). Students will learn the basics of Jazz Improvisation, terminology, different styles of music (Latin, Funk, Swing) as well as how to perform in a Jazz group through ensemble work that concludes in a minimum of two performances during the year. Students will also have access to Workshops by International Musicians/ Groups visiting Newpark during the year with past visits including a Faculty visit to CWSM from Berklee, Boston in 2014.

The Course runs from September - May over the academic year and costs €2,000. Classes take place every Monday from 6pm to 9.30pm and students are expected to have a busy practice routine on days they are not at CWSM. Applicants should be confident players and may be required to audition.
